ShanghART Gallery

ShanghART Gallery was founded in Shanghai in 1996. From the very beginning, its mission has been to discover, nurture, support, and promote artists—both domestic and international—who are dedicated to creating pure art. Over the years, it has become renowned in the field of contemporary Chinese art for its high level of professionalism, the wide range of creative directions pursued by its represented artists, and its consistently high artistic standards.

Over the past decade, it has gained widespread acclaim for its commitment to artistic innovation, integrity, and presenting contemporary Chinese art at a high quality level. The gallery currently collaborates with over 40 artists. ShanghART Gallery currently operates two spaces in Shanghai’s M50 Art District on Moganshan Road, both renovated from old warehouses (the main ShanghART space and H Space); in 2008, ShanghART established a branch in Beijing (ShanghART Beijing); in 2010, the ShanghART Storage facility officially opened to the public in the M50 complex in Taopu, Shanghai; and in 2012, the gallery opened a new space in Singapore.

ShanghART Gallery was not only among the first contemporary art galleries in China to participate in many internationally renowned art fairs, such as Art Basel, FIAC (Foire Internationale d'Art Contemporain) in France, and Art Basel Miami Beach, but it is also the only Chinese gallery featured in the book "International Art Galleries: From Post-War to the New Millennium."
