Ganquan Garden is a patriotic education base.

Ganquan Garden residential community was built in 1987, covering an area of 112,500 square meters. It was the first residential community in Putuo District designed with ecological landscaping as its guiding principle, established according to the principles of plant symbiosis and recycling. The community features over 30,000 trees from 51 families and more than 80 species, achieving a greening rate of 44.98%. The garden includes the uniquely designed Spring Garden, which the renowned traditional architect Mr. Chen Congzhou called "the finest spring garden by the sea." The community also houses a 1,200-square-meter comprehensive activity center for the neighborhood school, offering facilities and activities such as a Senior Citizens’ Corner and a foreign language corner to meet the cultural needs of residents at different levels. The community has been recognized as a National Excellent Managed Residential Community and a Shanghai Civilized Community. It was designated by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China as one of the national model sites for civilized villages and towns. In 1994, it was listed as one of the attractions for Shanghai’s “Million Citizens Visit Shanghai” campaign.
