The Site of the Yuan Dynasty Water Gate at Zhidan Garden is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Site of the Yuan Dynasty Water Gate at Zhidan Garden is located at the intersection of Zhidan Road and Yan Chang West Road in Putuo District. The water gate covers a total area of 1,500 square meters and consists of components such as the gate, gate walls, foundation stones, and rammed earth. Based on archaeological excavations, unearthed artifacts, and historical records, it has been determined that the Zhidan Garden Water Gate was constructed during the Yuan Dynasty, dating back 700 years. It is the largest, most exquisitely crafted, and best-preserved site of its kind discovered to date, holding extremely significant importance in the history of China’s hydraulic engineering development.
