Songyuan Tea House

Songyuan Tea House is a Shanghai municipal cultural heritage site and a patriotic education base.

Songyuan Tea House was built in July 1991, situated at the north exit of the North-South Elevated Road, within the planned Shanghai Northern Suburban Cultural Center District. It is adjacent to East Pearl Street, Huabei Yongdong City, Shanghai Circus World, Zhabei Park, Guangzhong Park, and Daning Lingang Park. It serves as a major venue for cultural entertainment and leisure in central Zhabei and was designated as a district-level patriotic education base in 1995.

The tea house covers a construction area of 3,400 square meters, making it the largest of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region. Since 1994, it has hosted numerous key events of the Shanghai International Tea Culture Festival, including the opening ceremony and Sino-foreign tea culture exchange activities. It also regularly holds exhibitions and sales of calligraphy, paintings, arts and crafts, as well as fine porcelain and teapots. It is an ideal venue for promoting national culture and delivering patriotic education.
