The Shanghai Anti-Drug Science Popularization and Education Museum is a science education base.

The Shanghai Anti-Drug Science Popularization and Education Museum (hereinafter referred to as the Anti-Drug Museum) is a base established by the Shanghai Municipal Narcotics Control Commission, the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, and other organizations, aiming to provide anti-drug science education for teenagers. It also serves as a platform for promoting anti-drug awareness in society and engaging people from all walks of life in the anti-drug cause. Located on the fourth floor of the Shanghai Youth Activity Center building at 188 Hanzhong Road, the museum covers an area of 1,256 square meters and consists of seven thematic exhibition areas, including “The Source of Evil.” It features 21 high-tech exhibits such as a 175-degree curved-screen cinema and holographic imaging. The exhibition utilizes modern display methods and media technology, combining physical displays, film screenings, photo exhibitions, comic illustrations, and interactive participation to deliver the serious message of anti-drug education through vivid and engaging experiences. It helps visitors, especially teenagers, fully understand the dangers of narcotics, learn about the mechanisms of addiction, and address widely concerned social issues such as “Why are teenagers the primary victims of narcotics?” It warns every visitor: cherish life and say no to narcotics.

The Anti-Drug Museum has been designated as a “National Science Popularization Education Base,” “National Anti-Drug Education Demonstration Base,” “National Social Practice Base for Drug Prevention Education in Primary and Secondary Schools,” “National Self-Protection Education Base for Teenagers,” “Shanghai Thematic Science Popularization Venue,” “Shanghai Anti-Drug Education and Promotion Base,” “Shanghai Phase II Curriculum Reform Science Popularization Education Base,” “Shanghai University Student Social Practice Base,” “Shanghai Volunteer Service Base,” and “Shanghai Student Social Practice Certification Management Workstation,” among others. Since its opening, it has maintained a reception model of “open year-round and free of charge,” and is equipped with a student ID card POS machine to certify participation in social practice activities for primary and secondary school students.

To meet the diverse needs of schools in organizing social practice activities, the museum also offers various visiting modes, including individual visits with electronic student ID cards, group activities, and weekend parent-child events. Through the museum’s rich resources in anti-drug science education, students can deepen their understanding of narcotics knowledge through interactive games and hands-on activities, enhancing their ability to prevent drug abuse more effectively while learning theoretical knowledge.
