Yichun Jinshan Town is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

As a national AAA-level scenic area, Jinshan Town is the only one in the province to have been elevated to national level as a concept town. It covers a total operating area of 184,949 hectares, with the administrative site spanning 8.41 square kilometers. Situated at the southern foot of the Lesser Khingan Mountains and along the middle reaches of the Tangwang River, the town was founded in 1952 under an integrated government-enterprise management system. It has a cold temperate continental monsoon climate, a forest coverage rate of 93.3%, and a total population of 50,000.

Jinshan Town boasts a beautiful ecological environment, featuring rugged mountains, lush forests, undulating terrain, and well-formed landforms. It is embraced by two natural water systems—the Tangwang River and the Dafeng River—which wind around the town like giant dragons. Surrounded by mountains on all sides and rivers on three, the town is gifted with natural landscape charm, resembling a beautiful peninsula. The town enjoys convenient transportation, situated between Yichun, Hegang, and Jiamusi, and serves as a key route leading to five eastern cities and 18 counties. It lies within a one-hour travel radius of both the Lin City Airport and Jiamusi Airport.

Jinshan Town is rich in ecological resources such as wild animals and plants. The vast forests are home to a wide variety of wildlife including sika deer, wild boar, black bears, wolves, roe deer, and rabbits. It produces renowned high-quality timber such as Korean pine, spruce, birch, oak, elm, Manchurian ash, and amur cork tree. The area also offers unique mountain herbs like eleuthero, schisandra berries, and astragalus, as well as wild vegetables and fruits such as bracken shoots, mushrooms, blueberries, and Korean pine nuts, all of which hold significant economic value. Characteristic products made from these natural resources—including solid wood furniture, wooden craft clocks, wood carvings, local specialties, forest frog series products, deer products, green agricultural goods, fruit wines, and spring water—are highly popular in the domestic market.

Jinshan Town has achieved a national first: 60 consecutive years without any major forest fires. It successfully hosted the first and organized the second “China · Yichun International Natural Waterway Rafting Competition,” earning the title of “Hometown of Natural Waterway Rafting” from the Water Sports Administration Center of the General Administration of Sport of China.

Jinshan Town is exceptionally rich in tourism resources. It is one of Yichun’s earliest-developed tourism hubs with considerable national influence and recognition, once leading the city’s tourism industry. Leveraging the Dafeng and Tangwang Rivers that encircle the town, it offers experiential tourism projects such as the Dafeng River rafting—one of the earliest in the city—renowned for its picturesque scenery, crystal-clear waters, and moderate rapids, making it one of the top rafting routes in the province. It also features the province’s first southern-style Jinshan Bamboo Rafting on the Tangwang River, blending into the landscape like a painting. The SS-grade Jinshan Ski Resort by the Dafeng River, with abundant snowfall and moderate slopes, is a paradise for beginners.

The area’s outstanding ecological resources also support leisure and sightseeing activities, such as the mysterious and elegant Four Mountains Scenic Area; the nearly 3-billion-yuan investment in the Laobai Mountain Wind Power Windmill Viewing; the European-style Jinshan Deer Park; the picturesque Fengyan Mountain Village; and the nearly 500-hectare Bai Mountain Primeval Korean Pine Mother Tree Forest. Red tourism projects based on profound historical and cultural heritage include the Laobai Mountain Anti-Japanese United Army Ruins. Ancient-themed sites feature the Beishan Lazi Relics—a late Neolithic site dating back 3,000 years—and the Hengshan Jin Dynasty Tomb Complex. Religious-themed attractions include the Buddhist sacred Tianlong Temple, Christian churches, mosques, and the ruins of the Russian Orthodox Church.
