The three newly launched bento boxes are all meticulously prepared by Kaohsiung Air Catering, with an emphasis on food safety and the use of seasonal, non-GMO ingredients. The “Braised Pork Chop” uses boneless pork loin, which is massaged and tenderized before braising to lock in the original flavor of the pork chop. The “Grilled Chicken Leg Chop” features boneless chicken leg meat grilled using traditional methods and topped with a rich barbecue sauce, resulting in tender, flavorful meat. The vegetarian “Three-Cup King Oyster Mushrooms” are made with sweet, crisp king oyster mushrooms wrapped in aromatic ginger and sesame oil, offering a hearty texture and full mushroom flavor.

The main dishes in the high-speed rail bento boxes are cooked by braising or grilling, while the side dishes are prepared by blanching or steaming, preserving the original appearance and flavor of the ingredients for a fresh and light style. In terms of color coordination, red, yellow, and green vegetables are specially selected to ensure both nutritional balance and visual appeal. The appearance of the high-speed rail bento boxes has also been fully updated, now using wooden boxes that not only enhance the eco-friendly concept but also allow the rice to stay fragrant and the texture more elastic due to the wood’s moisture absorption and breathability. In the future, the bento boxes will be adjusted seasonally with different vegetables to provide passengers with a richer dining experience, making it your new choice for refined and healthy meals.

Starting today, passengers can purchase the new bento flavors during lunch and dinner hours at high-speed rail stations (except Taipei Station) and on dining car trains. Passengers planning to eat are advised to purchase their meals at the station before boarding so they can enjoy them conveniently at their seats.
