High-speed rail bentos have been completely redesigned starting today. With a focus on balanced nutrition, the menu has been revamped using only ingredients that meet strict food safety standards and are non-GMO. The packaging has also been updated to wooden bento boxes, offering travelers more delicious and convenient meal options while on board. The new flavors of high-speed rail bentos include “Braised Pork Chop,” “Grilled Chicken Leg Chop,” and “Three-Cup King Oyster Mushrooms,” available during lunch and dinner hours at high-speed rail stations (except Taipei Station) and on trains, with a limited supply. Each bento is priced at NT$100.

The three newly launched bentos are all meticulously prepared by Kaohsiung Air Catering, with a strong emphasis on food safety and the use of seasonal, non-GMO ingredients. The “Braised Pork Chop” uses boneless pork loin, which is massaged, pounded, and braised to lock in the original flavor of the pork chop; the “Grilled Chicken Leg Chop” features boneless chicken leg chops roasted using traditional methods, topped with a rich barbecue sauce, resulting in tender and flavorful meat; the “Three-Cup King Oyster Mushrooms” (vegetarian) uses sweet, crisp king oyster mushrooms wrapped in aromatic ginger and sesame oil, delivering a rich texture and full mushroom aroma.

The main dishes of the high-speed rail bento are cooked by braising or roasting, while the side dishes are prepared by blanching or steaming, aiming to preserve the original appearance and flavor of the ingredients, presenting a fresh and light style. In terms of color coordination, red, yellow, and green vegetables are specially selected to ensure balanced nutrition and visual appeal. The appearance of the high-speed rail bento has also been fully updated, adopting wooden bento boxes, which not only enhance the eco-friendly concept but also allow the rice to become more fragrant and the texture more elastic due to the box's moisture-absorbing and breathable properties. In the future, the high-speed rail bento will be adjusted seasonally, replacing side dishes with seasonal vegetables to provide travelers with a richer dining experience, making it your new choice for refined and healthy meals.

Starting today, passengers can purchase the new flavors of bentos during lunch and dinner hours at high-speed rail stations (except Taipei Station) and on dining trains. Passengers who wish to dine are advised to purchase their bento at the station before boarding, so they can enjoy it conveniently at their seat after boarding.
