Nong'an Jianpeng Horse City is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Nong'an Jianpeng Horse City was built in 2012, with a projected total investment of 250 million RMB and a site area of 520,000 square meters. It is a national AAA-level tourist scenic area and also the largest breeding base for warmblood and Akhal-Teke horses in China. The first phase of construction has been completed, and it now has the capacity for horse breeding, horse trading, tourism reception, and hosting events. The first phase includes one international standard indoor equestrian competition arena (40x80m), one training hall (30x80m), the largest indoor equestrian competition arena in China (120x90m), and one outdoor training field (60x90m). There are over 200 competition and breeding stables, a 4,500-meter comprehensive building, as well as the Horse Owners’ Leisure and Entertainment Center, a 500-square-meter swimming and holiday center, a 400,000-square-meter grazing area, and a 30,000-square-meter reservoir. The second phase of Jianpeng Horse City features a Western Town with over 40 wooden cabins, as well as a Liao-Jin Cultural Village and a Horse Culture Museum. The Western Town is themed around the American Old West horse culture, allowing visitors and horse owners to stay there and experience American equestrian culture. The Liao-Jin Cultural Village highlights the local characteristics of Nong'an, featuring ancient buildings from the Liao and Jin dynasties, and showcases the history of Huanglongfu in Nong'an, enabling visitors to learn about the area’s heritage while visiting the horse city. The Horse Culture Museum in the second phase focuses on education and showcasing horse culture, displaying equestrian-related items from around the world along with explanations of their use. It also explains the origins of horses, the various roles of different horse breeds, and the contributions horses have made to human civilization, offering visitors a deeper understanding of all things related to horses. Ultimately, Jianpeng Horse City aims to become a comprehensive international horse city that meets global standards, integrating horse breeding, equestrian tourism, training, and competitive events.

Introduction to Jianpeng Horse City Equestrian Tourism

In China, the tourism industry is highly developed, with various provinces and cities launching tourism projects based on their unique features. However, there are currently no horse-themed tourism projects in China. In contrast, in Europe and America, equestrian tourism is very advanced — such as the American cowboy culture and the royal equestrian traditions of the UK and the Netherlands — which have gained worldwide recognition. Equestrian tourism has become a symbol of a country or city’s level of development. As the capital city of Jilin Province, Changchun’s tourism offerings have been relatively limited. Jianpeng Company has built the Nong'an-based Jianpeng Horse City, a national AAA-level tourist attraction covering 520,000 square meters. It boasts grasslands comparable to those in Europe, along with advanced hardware facilities, filling the gap in Changchun’s equestrian tourism sector. On the lush green fields of Jianpeng Horse City, visitors are greeted with breathtaking views of blue skies, green grass, and galloping horses. During the day, guests can tour the horse city, learn equestrian skills, experience cowboy life, watch equestrian performances, go fishing by the lake, or pick fruits on the farm. In the evening, they can stay in ranch apartments or camp on the grassland. The horse city offers recreational facilities such as a gym, billiards, and swimming pool, as well as the Horse Owners’ Home and a horse-themed bar. Horse Breeding

From 2010 to 2014, Jianpeng Company bred over 100 high-quality horses. It is expected that by 2018, the total number of horses will reach over 800, with more than 350 foals born annually and a total output value of 120 million RMB. Jianpeng Company aims to mobilize the entire Nong'an region to engage in horse breeding, creating benefits for the enterprise while also generating income for local residents. The company is committed to making Nong'an the largest breeding base for warmblood and Akhal-Teke horses in China. In 2014, the world’s largest producer of embryo transfer consumables, the French company IMV Technologies (formerly IMV CAROUSEL), learned about the scale of Jianpeng Horse City and proactively approached the company to assist in training and developing the embryo transfer project, thereby rapidly advancing the horse industry in Nong'an. In the near future, this effort will help resolve China’s long-standing reliance on imports for equestrian and racing horses. Jianpeng Company has also established cooperation agreements with the French National Equestrian Association as well as with countries such as the Netherlands and Germany. In 2015, it will introduce a large number of high-quality horses into China and will provide free services in areas such as horse cultural tourism, veterinary care, and education at Jianpeng Horse City.
