Nong'an Ancient City is located within what is now the urban area of Nong'an County. The ancient city is square-shaped, oriented at 10 degrees, with a perimeter of 3,840 meters. Its eastern wall is 936 meters, southern wall 984 meters, western wall 937 meters, and northern wall 938 meters. Each of the four walls has one gate, all situated in the middle of the walls. A small gate is located 300 meters east of the southern gate, 4009 meters north of the western gate, and 400 meters north of the eastern gate. The city walls are built from rammed earth. The base of the walls is 30 meters wide, with the northern wall’s remaining height ranging from 0.5 to 2 meters. The eastern wall has a remaining height of 1.3 meters. Most of the southern wall has been destroyed, with only remnants remaining east of the southern gate. The western wall has been entirely occupied by housing, leaving no visible traces. All four sides had corner towers; the northeastern corner tower has a remaining height of 7 meters, the southeastern 3 meters, while the southwestern and northwestern corners show slight traces.
