The Tomb of Unnamed Revolutionary Martyrs in Laocui Gully, Xiàsìpíng Village

The Tomb of Unnamed Revolutionary Martyrs in Laocui Gully, Xiàsìpíng Village, Da’an Town, is located 1.5 kilometers northeast of Xiàsìpíng Village in Da’an Town, Tonghua County, and 10 kilometers from Da’an Village, where the town government is situated. The site covers an area of 600 square meters, with a protected area of 400 square meters.

On January 30, 1947, the Nationalist army launched a second offensive against our Linjiang region with three divisions. Our participating forces cooperated closely and by February 8 had annihilated more than 5,200 Nationalist troops, thwarting the enemy’s second attack. On February 13, 1947, the Nationalist army mustered all available mobile forces, launching a larger-scale offensive against our Linjiang region with nearly four divisions. Our forces fought bravely, and by March 24, this campaign had resulted in the annihilation of over 14,000 Nationalist troops. Although both defensive battles achieved significant victories, our participating forces also suffered considerable casualties. In various towns and villages across Tonghua County, there are tombs for revolutionary martyrs of the “Four Defenses of Linjiang” campaign, primarily housing the remains of soldiers from the 3rd and 4th Columns of the Liaodong Military District of the Northeast Democratic Allied Army who sacrificed their lives. Da’an Town was once an important battlefield, and the tomb in Laocui Gully, Xiàsìpíng Village, houses the remains of 18 soldiers who died during the defense battles.

Constructed in the spring of 1947 and put into use in the autumn of 1949. The site has received general protection and utilization.
