Tomb of the Unnamed Revolutionary Martyrs in Donglai Township

The Tomb of the Unnamed Revolutionary Martyrs in Donglai Township is located at the foot of a mountain to the northwest of Hennan Village, the seat of the Donglai Township government in Tonghua County, approximately 2 kilometers from the village center. It covers an area of 200 square meters, with a protected zone spanning 100 square meters.

On January 30, 1947, the Nationalist army launched a second offensive against our Linjiang region with three divisions. Our forces fought in close coordination and by February 8 had eliminated over 5,200 Nationalist troops, successfully thwarting their second attack. On February 13, 1947, the Nationalist army mustered all available mobile forces, deploying nearly four divisions for an even larger offensive against the Linjiang area. After fierce battles, our troops had by March 24 eliminated a total of over 14,000 enemy soldiers. Although these two defensive battles achieved significant victories, our forces also suffered considerable casualties. During the third battle to defend Linjiang, General Du Guanghua, commander of the 10th Division of the 4th Column of the Northeast Democratic Allied Army, was unfortunately shot and killed at the age of 31. In various townships across Tonghua County, there are memorial cemeteries for the martyrs of the "Four Defenses of Linjiang" campaign, primarily housing the remains of officers and soldiers who sacrificed their lives while serving in the 3rd and 4th Columns of the Liaodong Military District under the Northeast Democratic Allied Army. The Donglai Township Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is one of them, where three soldiers are laid to rest. The tombstone bears the inscription: Eternal Glory to the Revolutionary Martyrs.

Constructed in February 1947 and put into use in September 1950. The site has been preserved and utilized.
