Victory Village Unknown Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery

The Victory Village Unknown Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery in Dongsheng Village, Guanghua Town, is located in Victory Village, Dongsheng Village, in the northeastern part of Guanghua Town, Tonghua County, approximately 7 kilometers from the town government seat in Guanghua Village. Covering an area of 60 square meters with a protected zone of the same size, it was initially built in April 1975 and renovated and expanded in 2006.

On January 30, 1947, the Nationalist army launched a second offensive against our Linjiang region with three divisions. Our participating forces cooperated closely and by February 8 had annihilated more than 5,200 Nationalist troops, thwarting the enemy’s second attack. On February 13, 1947, the Nationalist army mustered all available mobile forces—nearly four divisions—for a larger-scale offensive against our Linjiang region. Our forces fought bravely, and by March 24, this campaign had resulted in the elimination of over 14,000 Nationalist troops. Although these two defensive battles achieved significant victories, our forces also suffered considerable casualties. In various towns and villages across Tonghua County, there are revolutionary martyrs’ cemeteries, primarily burying soldiers from the 3rd and 4th Columns of the Liaodong Military District of the Northeast Democratic Allied Army who died in the “Four Defenses of Linjiang” campaign. The Victory Village cemetery in Dongsheng Village, Guanghua Town, buries one soldier. Though this unnamed martyrs’ grave is among the smallest, its influence and educational significance are profound.
