Zhixiang Primary School in Sankeshuyu Town is located in Sankeshuyu Village, the seat of the town government in Sankeshuyu Town, Tonghua County, covering an area of 1,505 square meters, with a protected area of 1,505 square meters. The site has been rebuilt and now presents a completely renewed appearance, exerting considerable influence and demonstrating a high level of construction.

Gao Zhihang, originally named Gao Mingjiu, with the courtesy name Ziheng, was a male of Han ethnicity, born in May 1908 in Gaolimuzi Village (now Fanrong Village, Kuaimamao Town), Tonghua County, into a farming family. He later moved to Sankeshuyu Village and attended Sankeshuyu Primary School. In 1924, he was admitted to the Northeast Army Officer Training Class and went to France to study aviation technology. In 1931, he became the captain of the Flying Eagle Squadron under the Northeast Aviation Office. After the September 18 Incident, Gao Zhihang actively sought to join the resistance against Japan, but due to the Nationalist Party’s non-resistance policy, he had no opportunity to serve his country. In 1932, after arriving in Nanjing, he served as a member of the air squadron under the Nationalist Central Aviation Authority. Due to his exceptional flying skills, he was repeatedly promoted, and in 1936, he was appointed commander of the Fourth Pursuit Squadron of the Nationalist Air Force. Shortly after the July 7 Incident, the Battle of Shanghai broke out. On August 14, 1937, Gao Zhihang led his squadron to shoot down six bombers of the elite Japanese "Matsushima Air Group" in the skies above Hangzhou's Jianqiao Airport without losing a single aircraft. This battle marked the first major aerial victory in the history of Chinese air combat. The Nationalist Party designated August 14 as Air Force Day, and Gao Zhihang was hailed as the "God of War" of the resistance and one of the "Four Great Aces" of the Chinese Air Force. Due to his bravery in combat and numerous aerial victories, he was promoted to Colonel and Commander of the Pursuit Command. On November 12, 1937, Gao Zhihang was ordered to Urumqi (now Ürümqi) to receive 100 newly aided Soviet pursuit aircraft. After passing through Lanzhou, he arrived at Zhoujia Kou Airport. At 6 a.m., the Japanese suddenly launched an attack. He bravely boarded his plane to engage the enemy but was tragically killed when his plane failed to start after three attempts and was bombed.

Established in 1919 and put into use in 1999. In 1999, the central primary school in Sankeshuyu Town, where Gao Zhihang once studied, was renamed Zhixiang Primary School in Sankeshuyu Town. His eldest daughter, Gao Liliang, returned to her hometown specifically to attend a commemorative symposium at Zhixiang Primary School, and the hero’s deeds were widely publicized. Gao Zhihang (May 14, 1907 – November 21, 1937), an ace pilot of the Chinese Air Force. Originally named Gao Mingjiu, with the courtesy name Ziheng, he was from Tonghua County, Liaoning Province (now Tonghua County, Tonghua City, Jilin Province). In 1920, he put down his pen and joined the military, enrolling in the Northeast Army Officer Training Class, then went to France to study aircraft piloting for two years. After returning to China, he served in the Air Force. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, he was a renowned Chinese air force anti-Japanese hero and national hero, serving as the commander of the Chinese Air Force Pursuit Squadron and leader of the Fourth Air Squadron.
