Martyrs' Cemetery of Sipeng Township

The Martyrs' Cemetery of Sipeng Township is located on the northern hillside of Sanpeng Village, approximately 3 kilometers northwest of Sipeng Township, Tonghua County, and about 2 kilometers from the village center. It covers an area of 1,100 square meters, with a protected area of 600 square meters.

In November 1946, the "25% Rent Reduction" work team from Tonghua County and City assigned three comrades to carry out work in Sandianzi Village (now Sipeng Township, Tonghua County) in Ying'e District, Tonghua County, with Yuan Mingshou serving as the team leader. Shortly after their arrival, a landlord’s family member named Li Kuilan informed local bandits, and the bandit leader Huang Deyou led over 20 bandits to storm the team’s residence. They tied up Team Leader Yuan Mingshou, and bandits E Zhanqing and E Zhanfang stabbed Yuan more than 20 times in the grassland at the mouth of the First Yanggou Valley, leading to his tragic death. Following the vicious order of bandit leader Huang Deyou — “those who work with the Eighth Route Army must not be left as future threats” — the other two work team members were also brutally killed by the bandits. In September 1970, during the investigation of enemy and puppet archives by the Sipeng Township Clearing Office, the heinous crimes of a group of bandits including Lanshuzhu were uncovered, bringing this dark history to light. The Martyrs' Cemetery was then established to honor the three fallen comrades. In 1982, three PLA soldiers also sacrificed their lives during construction work in the area and were buried here.
