The Tomb of the Unnamed Revolutionary Martyrs in ShangSiping Village, Da’an Town

The Tomb of the Unnamed Revolutionary Martyrs in ShangSiping Village, Da’an Town, is located 1 kilometer north of ShangSiping Village, Da’an Town, Tonghua County, and 18 kilometers from Da’an Village, where the town government is situated. It covers an area of 30 square meters, with a protected area of the same size. The site was renovated in 2008. The cemetery is the resting place of three soldiers who died in the Battle to Defend Linjiang. The tombstone is inscribed with the words: “Eternal Glory to the Revolutionary Martyrs.”

On February 13, 1947, the Nationalist army gathered all available mobile forces, launching a large-scale offensive against the Linjiang area with nearly four divisions. Our participating troops fought bravely, and by March 24, had eliminated over 14,000 enemy soldiers in this campaign. Although the two defense battles achieved significant victories, our troops also suffered heavy casualties. In various towns and villages across Tonghua County, there are cemeteries for revolutionary martyrs of the “Four Defenses of Linjiang” campaign, primarily burying soldiers from the 3rd and 4th Columns of the Liaodong Military District of the Northeast Democratic Allied Army who gave their lives. The Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery in ShangSiping Village, Da’an Town, is one of them.
