Immortal Cave of Huaiyu
The Immortal Cave of Huaiyu is considered one of the major karst caves in Beijing. It is located on the mountainside a few hundred meters north of Huaiyu Village, surrounded by exposed rock faces from nearby quarrying operations.
The Immortal Cave is also known as Jianyang Cave. There used to be a small temple next to the cave, but it no longer exists. At the cave entrance, there is an artificially built gateway. The cave extends dozens of meters deep, with a spacious bottom that can accommodate hundreds of people. Due to the large number of visitors since ancient times, who used torches for lighting, the stalactites inside have been blackened. The four walls at the cave bottom feature dozens of ink inscriptions dating from the Ming Dynasty's Wanli era to the Republican period. Unfortunately, most of them have become blurred, leaving only fragments of text visible.
