On September 14, the 4th Beijing International Mountain Hiking Festival, themed “Hiking Ancient Roads and Villages, Leading a New Leisure Lifestyle,” grandly opened in Zhaitang Town, Mentougou District. The event was jointly organized by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports, the People's Government of Mentougou District, the Beijing Sports Federation, and the Beijing International Exchange Association of NGOs, and sponsored by Zhongkun Cup.

This edition of the hiking festival featured five uniquely designed routes, each showcasing stunning natural landscapes and rich cultural heritage along the way. The trails passed by historically significant sites such as the famous ancient village of Cuandixia, the Huangcaogang Nature Scenic Area, the Zhaitang Reservoir, and the Ming-Qing Dynasty fortress of Yanhecheng.
A day before the competition began, Green Field netizens had already arrived at Zhaitang Cultural Park in Mentougou District to prepare for the “Camping Carnival” ahead of the hiking event. This year, the organizers specially set up dedicated areas for drinking water, dining, and entertainment for the campers, and arranged for 24-hour security patrols. Facilities were comprehensive and services well-executed.
