The "Top Ten Universities 300-Kilometer Hiking Marathon" is jointly organized by Peking University and the People's Government of Mentougou District. It is a key event held in response to the “Three Go’s” initiative issued by the Communist Youth League Central Committee, the Ministry of Education, the General Administration of Sport of China, and the National Federation of Students—“Step away from the internet, step out of the dormitory, and step onto the sports field.” With the purpose of “a complete personality begins with sports” and the slogan “Hike youth, climb dreams,” the event emphasizes perseverance and teamwork while downplaying competitive intensity and individual heroism, aiming to achieve genuine educational impact. This event also pioneers ultra-long-duration, ultra-long-distance hiking marathons in China. Over the course of 12 days, students will hike more than 300 kilometers in Mentougou District, challenging and improving themselves in an exceptionally demanding environment.
