The Ambush Site of the Japanese Mining Survey Team is located at the entrance of Bailazi Gully in Qidao Gou Village, Guosong Town, Tonghua County, 1.5 kilometers from the village center.

After occupying Northeast China, the Japanese invaders frantically plundered various resources. In June 1935, the Japanese sent a mining survey team led by a Japanese man named Noda Atsushi to the Qidao Gou Iron Mine. After arriving in Qidao Gou, the survey team, fearing attacks from anti-Japanese forces, did not dare to stay near the mine area. Instead, they lodged in the distillery courtyard of Yifeng Tun at the entrance of Qidao Gou. They were transported by car every day and escorted by armed "Qingyuan Police." On the morning of July 5, the survey team's car left the distillery compound and drove slowly over a small bridge at the entrance of Bailazi Gully. Taking advantage of the moment, remaining soldiers of the 19th Route Army of the Liaoning People's Self-Defense Forces, who were lying in ambush on both sides of the road, opened fire — instantly puncturing the tires and fuel tank. The car could not move forward, so those on board jumped out to escape. As the self-defense forces charged forward, they shouted: “Chinese don’t fight Chinese, all Chinese lay down your weapons.” Hearing the shouts, the "Qingyuan Police" dropped their weapons and surrendered one after another. In this battle, 18 members of the Japanese survey team were killed (including 4 Japanese), and the rest were captured. After suffering repeated attacks, the Japanese invaders arrested Wang Fengge’s mother-in-law and brother-in-law, forcing the latter to persuade Wang Fengge to surrender — but his anti-Japanese resolve remained unshaken.
