The Southern An Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is located on the hillside behind Sankeshuyu Village, Sankeshuyu Town, Tonghua County, about 1 kilometer from the village center. It covers an area of 30 square meters, with a protected area of the same size.

In October 1946, the Nationalist army advanced toward Tonghua along the line of Shenyang, Fushun, and Xinbin. After capturing Xinbin in mid-October, they took over Wangqingmen in Xinbin on October 19. The 20th and 21st Regiments of the 7th Division of the 3rd Column of the Northeast Democratic Allied Army took advantage of the enemy’s unstable position and launched an attack that night. Deputy Commander Southern An of the 20th Regiment led his troops in a fierce battle against the 2nd Battalion of the 584th Regiment of the 195th Division of the Nationalist 52nd Army at Gujiao Mountain in Wangqingmen, Xinbin. He fearlessly commanded the battle from the front lines amid heavy gunfire. The unit eliminated over 260 enemy soldiers, forcing the enemy to retreat in disarray. Comrade Southern An unfortunately sacrificed his life when struck by enemy artillery fire during the battle. He was 31 years old at the time. His remains were initially buried at the foot of Banjialazi Mountain in Xiapai Village, Sankeshuyu Town, Tonghua County, and were relocated to the hill behind Sankeshuyu Village in 1994.

Southern An, male, Han ethnicity, was born in 1915 into a poor farming family in Daozhuang, Zhangdian Township, Zhangdian District, Zibo City, Shandong Province. He joined the 2nd Regiment of the 1st Brigade of the Luxi Military Region in November 1937, became a member of the Communist Party of China in 1939, fought in the Northeast in 1945, and was appointed Deputy Commander of the 20th Regiment of the 7th Division of the 3rd Column of the Northeast Democratic Allied Army in July 1946.

Established in October 1946, utilized in the spring of 1994. The site has received general protection.
