Located on the northern hill of Sadaogou in Xiawazi Village, Huanxi Township, Chuanying District, Jilin City. The Sadaogou Tomb Cluster dates back to the Bronze Age, specifically the Xituanshan Culture type. From 1941 to 1953, a total of 28 stone coffin tombs were excavated, yielding a large number of artifacts. Among them, the largest burial chamber at the top of the northern hill contained the most grave goods, indicating clear social stratification in terms of wealth. The tombs were mostly built with piled block stones, with a few constructed using upright slab stones. Covering a vast area and rich in content, the Sadaogou Tomb Cluster—especially with the unique large coffin tomb at the mountaintop—provides rare physical evidence for studying the social structure, family units, emergence of private ownership, and the origins of statehood as reflected in the Xituanshan Culture.
