The Wan Fulin Residence is a quadrangle-style building with corridors. The layout consists of the main house, east and west wing rooms, a floral-pendant gate, basement, courtyard, decorative walls, and corridors. The current building area is 2,100 square meters, with 85 rooms. There are multiple basements beneath the main house. It was built during the Republican period.

Wan Fulin (1880–1951) was from Nong’an, Jilin. At the time, he served as commander of the 53rd Army of the Nationalist Party. Wan Fulin started as a private in the Jingwei Army and rose to the rank of general in the Northeast Army. He went to Taiwan shortly before the liberation of Shenyang. Wan Fulin, a Nationalist general and subordinate of Zhang Xueliang of the Northeast Army, held positions such as governor of Heilongjiang Province, chairman of Liaoning Province, and deputy commander of the 20th Army Group.
