Dabusu National Nature Reserve

Dabusu National Nature Reserve is a national-level nature reserve and a science education base.

Dabusu National Nature Reserve was approved as a provincial-level geological park by the Jilin Provincial Department of Land and Resources in 2002. The main conservation targets of the reserve include: karst-like landforms formed by subsurface erosion—mud forests, the lake area and migratory nationally protected rare bird species, late Pleistocene vertebrate fossils and their fossil sites, as well as the ecosystem of natural saline-alkali lakes (including its aquatic ecosystem, saline-alkali flats, meadows, and marsh ecosystems). The area features a public-accessible natural museum and a science education reading room. The museum is divided into three major exhibition halls: the Woolly Rhinoceros Hall, the Bird Specimen Hall, and the Paleovertebrate Fossil Hall. There are also four exhibition rooms: the Insect Specimen Room, the Plant Specimen Room, the Geological Specimen Room, and the Regional Culture Room.
