The Langya Dam Mud Forest is located on the western slope of the eastern bank of Dabusu, 35 kilometers west of Qian'an County, stretching approximately 5 kilometers from north to south and about 5 kilometers from east to west. At a horizontal section about 1 meter below the surface, two cultural layers are exposed: one represents late Neolithic and Bronze Age primitive cultures, with artifacts including handmade coarse sandy pottery fragments, pottery spinning whorls, microliths, clam knives, bone arrowheads, bronze buttons, and bronze rings; the other layer belongs to the Liao and Jin Dynasties period, yielding ceramic shards, bronze coins, bronze ornaments, as well as human and animal bones, in addition to burial sites and residential remains. In recent years, fossils of ancient animals such as late Pleistocene mammoths and woolly rhinoceroses have been collected multiple times in the mud forest. In 1999, the People's Government of Jilin Province designated it as a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit of the fifth batch.
