Chongshan Mountain and Water Scenic Area

The Chongshan Mountain and Water Scenic Area is located in the border region of Chongshan Town in the southern part of Helong County. This area boasts an exceptional ecological environment, with a forest coverage rate as high as 98%. The air quality, surface water, and soil all meet national first-class standards.

The fresh air, serene surroundings, and pristine land and water provide an excellent foundation for eco-tourism.

The Yanji Chongshan Mountain and Water Scenic Area lies on the eastern foothills of the Changbai Mountains, and its vegetation represents a typical vertical plant distribution system of the Changbai Mountain range. The favorable forest ecological environment provides an ideal habitat for wildlife. It is common to see hares darting about, pheasants suddenly taking flight, and various animals such as roe deer, sika deer, bears, deer, and wild boars playing in the dense forests. The overall terrain consists of eroded low mountains and some lava plateaus. There are five peaks over 1,000 meters in elevation, among which Chifeng Mountain is the most distinctive. With an altitude of 1,321 meters, it is a volcanic cone situated on a lava plateau. The rock is red in color and full of holes, resembling a beehive.
