The Ruins of the Yanji Border Wall is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Border Wall refers to a defensive wall that starts in Tushan Township, Helong County, in the west, stretches eastward for over 150 kilometers, and ends at Jilin Mountain in Chang’an Town, Longjing City. Locally, it is referred to as the “Great Wall,” “Border Wall,” or “Border Trench.”

The Border Wall spans nine townships across Helong County, Longjing City, and Yanji City. The starting point of the Border Wall is on the slopes of Erdaogou in Dongshan Village, Tushan Township, Helong County, approximately 2.5 kilometers northeast of the Western Ancient City (the Xingde Prefecture of Bohai’s Central Capital). The Nangang Mountain Range and Ying’e Ridge converge about 35 kilometers slightly southwest of the starting point of the Border Wall. This area features steep mountains, with the Hailan River to the south, making for a highly strategic and rugged terrain. The Border Wall extends northward from Dongshan Village, passing through the northwest mountains of Xicheng Township, along the edge of Yadong Reservoir, and after crossing the Ginseng Farm in Helong County, it enters Longjing City. There, it connects with the Border Wall at the Orchard Farm in Xilinhe Township. The wall continues north to Changcheng Village, Xiaohuidong Village, and Xiaobei Village in Xin Township, then passes through Dongshan, Guandao, and Guanchuan in Taoyuan Township of Laotougou Town, before turning northeast to connect with the Border Wall at Sishui Village in Tongfo Township, Shishan in Chaoyang Township, and Mantou Mountain in Badao Township. It then turns east, crosses Shuangfeng Village, and enters the territory of Yanji City, reaching Pingfeng Mountain, located 5 kilometers northwest of Taiyan Village in Yanji Township, Yanji City. It then extends southeast, connecting to the southern mountains of Taiyan and Xinshan, the southern mountains of Xingnong Village, and Xing’an Township (Qingchaguan). The Border Wall re-enters Longjing City and runs eastward to Mopan in Chang’an Town. This section is as close as 1 kilometer to Chengzishan Mountain City (the Eastern Xia Dynasty’s Southern Capital). Finally, the Border Wall ends at Jilin North Mountain. To the east of the endpoint lies the Nangang Mountain Range, and about 15 kilometers southeast of the mountain is the northward-flowing Tumen River.
