Chechangzi Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Base is located in the river valley fork area upstream of the Gudong River, at the border between Helong and Antu, now part of He’an Village, Wolong Township, Helong City. Major relics include: the site of the headquarters of the 2nd Army and the regimental headquarters of the Northeast People’s Revolutionary Army, the ruins of the arsenal, and the ruins of the uniform factory. In January 1935, over a thousand soldiers and civilians from the anti-Japanese guerrilla bases within Yanji, Helong, and Antu came to Chechangzi to establish what was then the largest and most influential anti-Japanese base in eastern Manchuria. At that time, the headquarters of the 2nd Army of the Northeast People’s Revolutionary Army, as well as the headquarters of the 1st and 2nd regiments, were stationed here, making it the command center for leading the armed struggle of the anti-Japanese forces in eastern Manchuria. In October 1935, Japanese invaders began a large-scale offensive against the base. To preserve their strength, the 2nd Army of the Northeast People’s Revolutionary Army withdrew from the Chechangzi base and advanced separately toward southern Manchuria, where they fought in coordination with the 1st Army. The 1st and 2nd regiments of the 2nd Army also relocated to the Naitoushan Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Base in Antu.
