To its southwest are steep ridges, and to the north lies a deep valley. The site is roughly an irregular oval in shape. It has a perimeter of 2,680 meters, with walls over 10 meters wide at the base and generally between 1.50 and 2.50 meters in height. Four corner towers are situated at the turns of the walls. Two gate sites can be identified: the north gate is about 11 meters wide and includes a barbican, while the other, on the north-south axis, is about 6 meters wide and lacks a barbican. A stream inside the fortress flows southward down the mountain into the Yangmu River and eventually into Shiguo Reservoir. This mountain fortress holds significant value for the study of ancient fortress architecture and the history of the Bohai Kingdom.

The mountain fortress is built on the mountaintop of Yangmudingzi Gully, about 10 Chinese miles southeast of Shiguo Reservoir in Toudao Town, Helong City. It is locally known as Tuchenggou. To its southwest are steep hills, and to the north lies a deep canyon. The fortress site is roughly an irregular oval. It has a perimeter of 2,680 meters, with wall bases over 10 meters wide and heights generally ranging from 1.50 to 2.50 meters. Corner towers are located at the four turns of the walls. Two gate locations can be confirmed: the north gate is approximately 11 meters wide and includes a barbican, while the other gate, oriented north-south, is around 6 meters wide and does not have a barbican. A mountain stream within the fortress flows southward down the slopes into the Yangmu River and eventually into Shiguo Reservoir. This mountain fortress is of great importance for studying the layout of ancient mountain fortresses and the history of the Bohai Kingdom.
