Hailan Lake Golf Course

Yanji Hailan Lake Golf Course is situated in Xiaohelong Village on the city’s outskirts, nestled in the forest by Hailan Lake. It spans 150 hectares and includes a 36-hole course, with 18 holes along the lakeside and 18 in the woods. From mid-March to mid-November, golfers can enjoy playing here, especially during the summer retreat season and the vibrant autumn foliage period when the course scenery is at its most stunning. The Yanji Hailan Lake Golf Course was built with full foreign investment and commenced operations in 2003, making it the first golf course in the province. It attracts and accommodates a large number of domestic and international visitors every year. The course also features resort apartments covering 19,000 square meters, equipped with comfortable guest rooms and a specialty restaurant, as well as amenities such as a swimming pool, fitness center, and bar. Supporting facilities include tennis courts, a golf driving range, and sightseeing battery carts.

The word "golf" first appeared in the 14th century. Legend has it that a Scottish shepherd, on his way home one day, accidentally hit a round stone into a rabbit hole with his shepherd’s crook, inspiring the creation of the sport. "Golf" is the phonetic translation of the English word GOLF, which stands for the initials of Green, Oxygen, Light, and Friendship—four elements essential to human health—and has become a favorite pastime for leisure and vacation. Golf has a unique charm: firstly, its environment is distinctive, with green fields, sunlight, sandy bunkers, and clear water, allowing players to connect closely with nature; secondly, it doesn’t require defeating others but rather focuses on self-improvement, helping to cultivate strong mental resilience; thirdly, it promotes the virtue of courtesy; fourthly, it fosters compassion, such as wearing soft-spiked shoes on the course and repairing divots; fifthly, it encourages an honest and upright attitude, such as reporting your own scores truthfully; sixthly, it instills a deep understanding of respecting others and considering their needs—for example, no one should speak or make noise when a player is preparing to take a shot; and seventhly, it serves as an upscale social platform.
