In addition to being a food hub in Taipei’s East District, heading toward Guangfu South Road and Xinyi Road, Yanji Street transforms into a completely different hipster enclave. Along the street, you’ll find numerous unique eateries and cafes tucked away in the quiet corners of this bustling yet serene area, showcasing a vibrant artsy energy.

1. Alone Together / 一席
As the name suggests, Alone Together Café has only one seat and is open just four days a week. From its exterior to its interior, and even its tableware, the café exudes a mysterious vibe. Within its 1.5-ping space, the owner serves coffee and shares music, announcing in advance which vinyl records will be played that day.

2. Torarakuya-Taipei (Yin Le Wu) Café, Curry, and Small Dishes
Torarakuya-Taipei is filled with a strong Japanese atmosphere inside and out, featuring numerous nostalgic decor items. The café offers only two types of curry: a spicy beef curry and a sweet, non-spicy pork-and-chicken curry. You can also add a sunny-side-up egg.
