Jilin Bajiazi Gudonghe National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

Jilin Bajiazi Gudonghe National Wetland Park is a pilot wetland park unit approved by the State Forestry Administration in 2013. The park is located in Miaoling Forest Farm of the Bajiazi Forestry Bureau, 45 km from Bajiazi Town and 95 km from Yanji City. The park area includes parts of the operational regions of Miaoling Forest Farm and Gudonghe Forest Farm. Its geographical coordinates are between 42°04'46.65" to 42°04'26.6" north latitude and 128°03'43.27" to 128°04'53.32" east longitude, covering a total area of 944.3 hectares.

Gudonghe Wetland Park boasts rich biodiversity. This complex biodiversity plays a significant role in the protection of wetland ecosystems and biodiversity. The wetland park features four vegetation types, 11 formations, and 12 associations. There are 384 species of wild plants from 89 families. The park is home to 275 species of wild vertebrates, belonging to 80 families across 30 orders, accounting for 48.2% of the total known vertebrate species in Jilin Province. Among these, there are 30 species under national first and second-class protection, including the Oriental stork, golden eagle, mandarin duck, and black bear, which make up 39.5% of the key protected terrestrial wildlife species in Jilin Province.

Gudonghe National Wetland Park is divided into five functional zones: wetland conservation zone, restoration and reconstruction zone, education and exhibition zone, rational use zone, and management service zone. These fully leverage the functions and benefits of the wetland ecosystem. Through various conservation measures, the park's wetland ecosystem has been further improved, protecting wildlife—especially providing essential habitats, migration routes, and breeding grounds for waterfowl. When spring arrives, the area becomes vibrant and full of life—wildflowers bloom, trees and grass turn green, the sky and water are blue, while fish swim, frogs jump, insects and butterflies flutter, resembling a paradise on earth. The tranquility of the woods combined with the dynamic beauty of mountain streams and the calls of waterfowl form a stunning wetland landscape. It offers visitors a uniquely delightful sensory experience that is truly indescribable.

Gudonghe National Wetland Park is built upon the foundation of conserving the wetland ecosystem in the upper reaches of the Gudonghe River. It is characterized by its beautiful river and swamp landscapes, abundant wildlife resources, and healthy experiential tourism such as rafting. The park integrates the conservation and restoration of marsh wetlands in the Changbai Mountain region, the exhibition of wetland functions and cultural education, wetland scientific research and monitoring, and ecotourism. Through the development of the wetland park, the integrity of the wetland ecosystem will be effectively protected, maximizing the wetland’s roles in water conservation, erosion control, climate regulation, recreation, and culture & science. This will comprehensively enhance the ecological service value of the wetland park.
