The Shifosi City Site in Shenyang is a cultural relic protection unit of Liaoning Province.

The Shifosi City Site is located in Shifosi Village, Shifosi Township, Shenbei New District, Shenyang City, dating back to the Liao Dynasty.

The Shifosi Temple was originally built during the Liao Dynasty and was initially named Jingju Monastery. It was extremely grand in scale, with towering main halls, exquisitely carved beams and painted rafters, making it a magnificent sight. The temple enjoyed flourishing incense offerings all year round, and during festivals, worshippers flocked to it in an endless stream. For hundreds of years, Jingju Monastery has gone through many trials, and the temple itself has completely disappeared.

Fortunate to live in prosperous times, with all things being revived, social harmony prevailing, and people turning towards kindness, Shifosi Temple has received strong support from the Party and government. Approved by the Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Religious Affairs, it was rebuilt in 1992. To meet the needs of devotees, expansion work commenced on May 29, 2009, to build the Kṣitigarbha Hall, Guanyin Hall, Scripture Depository, Patriarchs’ Hall, meditation rooms, memorial archway, cultural square, as well as reconstructing the Heavenly King Hall, Mahavira Hall, Shifo Hall, and Haihui Pagoda. The expanded Shifosi Temple will be even more splendid and magnificent.

On June 11, 2008, the Shifosi City Site was announced by the People's Government of Liaoning Province as part of the Eighth Batch of Provincial-Level Cultural Relic Protection Units in Liaoning.

Protected area: Within the city and within 20 meters outside the outer base of the city wall.

Construction control zone: Outside the protected area, extending east to the main canal of the Shifosi Irrigation District, 100 meters south and north respectively, and west to within the Yinsi Line, designated as a Class I construction control zone.
