Sanjiazi City Site

Sanjiazi City Site is located on the western slope of Sanjiazi in Liyingjiangwobao Village, Fangjiatun Town, approximately 22 kilometers southwest of the county town

. It is a square earthen-walled city, with each side measuring about 300 meters. The western wall of the site is relatively well-preserved today, with 80 meters remaining on the western section of the southern wall and 70 meters on the western section of the northern wall. The eastern sections of the northern and southern walls as well as the eastern wall have been destroyed, leaving only raised earthen mounds. The surviving sections of the wall stand 2–3 meters high, with a base width of 12 meters and a top width of 1.5 meters. The rammed earth layers of the wall are clearly visible, each about 10 centimeters thick. Locally, it is referred to as the “Half City.” Collected artifacts include fragments of roof tiles, tubular tiles, basins, jars, urns, bowls, and vats, as well as a bronze mirror with a twelve-zodiac floral design unearthed at the site—all of which date back to the Liao and Jin dynasties. In October 1980, the county government designated it as a key cultural relic protection unit.
