The Nanchengzi Ancient City Site is located on the hills along the western shore of Wolong Lake in Chaihainao Village, Erniuskou Township. Nanchengzi Ancient City Site

The Nanchengzi Ancient City Site is situated on the hills along the western shore of Wolong Lake in Chaihainao Village, Erniuskou Township. The village at the foot of the hill is named Xiaochengzi after the ancient city. This city is a square-shaped earthen fortress. It is higher in the south and lower in the north, with each side approximately 300 meters long. The base of the original city wall is well-preserved, with clear rammed layers. About 300 meters to the south lies a large platform, known as the so-called “General’s Platform.” A large number of relics have been found at the site. Based on these artifacts, it is inferred that the city was built during the Liao Dynasty and continued to be used through the Yuan Dynasty. On October 16, 1980, the county government designated it as a key cultural relic protection unit.
