Paoziyan Xiaochengzi Ancient City Site

Paoziyan Xiaochengzi Ancient City Site is situated to the north of Xiaochengzi Village in Paoziyan, Dongguantun Township, about 5 kilometers southwest of the county seat. The city is a square-shaped earthen fortress, with each side being 350 meters long. At present, the western wall remains intact, half of the northern wall has been dug out, the northern section of the eastern wall is gone, while the middle and southern sections still show traces of the walls. The southern wall has been excavated. A wealth of relics have been unearthed at the site. Analysis of these artifacts indicates that this was a city from the Liao and Jin dynasties. On October 16, 1980, the county government designated it as a key cultural relic protection unit.
