Shenyang Sports Park

Shenyang Sports Park was built on the former site of the Shenyang People's Stadium. It officially opened in May 2003 and has been free to the public ever since, becoming the first park in Northeast China that integrates sports, leisure, and shopping. Today’s Shenyang Sports Park stands on the original location of the Shenyang People's Stadium.

The Shenyang People's Stadium, originally built in 1930 by the “South Manchuria Railway Company,” was initially named Fengtian International Sports Ground, also known as the Kangde Stadium. It is a comprehensive stadium covering a total area of 105,000 square meters, featuring a standard football field, an athletic track, a baseball diamond, and tennis courts. After Japan's surrender in 1945, it was renamed Zhongshan Stadium. In 1948, following the liberation of Shenyang, the stadium was officially named the Shenyang People's Stadium.

In 1983, the Shenyang People's Stadium underwent renovations and became an internationally advanced lighted turf stadium. The Shenyang People's Stadium witnessed many sporting achievements created by the people of Shenyang and left countless cherished football memories for fans. In 2002, the Shenyang Municipal Government planned to transform the stadium into an open sports park and began demolition and reconstruction. In May 2003, Shenyang Sports Park officially opened to the public and has been free of charge, becoming the first park in Northeast China that combines sports, leisure, and shopping.

Location: At the intersection of Nanjing South Street and South Sanma Road, Heping District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, south of Zhongshan Park.

Transportation: Within Shenyang city, you can take buses such as routes 523, 152, 223, 282, 231, 115, 296, 154, 257, 253, 247, 287, and 266 to reach the park.
