Dalian Port

Dalian Port was established in 1899. Located at the hub of the northwest Pacific Ocean, it is the center of the emerging Northeast Asia economic zone and serves as the maritime gateway for the region to enter the Pacific and face the world. The port boasts broad waters and great depth, free from siltation and ice, with exceptionally favorable natural conditions. It is the most convenient port for transshipping goods from the Far East, South Asia, North America, and Europe.

The port has a free water area of 346 square kilometers and a land area of about 15 square kilometers. It currently has over 160 kilometers of dedicated railway lines within the port, more than 300,000 square meters of warehouses, 1.8 million square meters of cargo yards, and over a thousand types of handling machinery. It features 84 modern specialized berths for containers, crude oil, refined oil, grain, coal, bulk ore, chemical products, and roll-on/roll-off passenger and cargo transport, including 52 berths with a capacity of over 10,000 tons.

Dalian Port is actively building a large-scale, specialized, and modern international deep-water hub port and a modern information port, endowing it with the functionality and operational mechanisms of a third-generation international port. It is striving to create a specialized and seamless logistics system to provide customers with the most optimized supply chain solutions. By advancing informatization, the port is promoting the development of a "digital port" and has initially formed an IT industry system, establishing a network platform for information exchange within Dalian Port's container industry. The Dalian Port Group has become a modern comprehensive port with excellent connectivity, fully equipped facilities, and comprehensive service capabilities.

In 2003, the Party Central Committee and the State Council implemented a strategy to revitalize old industrial bases in the northeast region and beyond, proposing to build Dalian into an important international shipping center in Northeast Asia. As the core and flagship of the international shipping center, Dalian Port entered a new wave of infrastructure construction starting in 2002.
