◎ Zheng Ji Pig Trotter Rice
Located at Beimen Station, Zheng Ji Pig Trotter Rice originally started as a small noodle stall. After being taken over by the second generation, it switched to selling pig trotter rice and quickly became a hit. The pig trotters are tender and soft, not greasy, and rich in collagen, making them a favorite among foodies. In addition, the store’s signature big bone soup is available for unlimited self-service – the broth is sweet and flavorful, paired simply with white radish for a delicious taste.

◎ Professor Do Korean Fried Chicken
Ever since the Korean drama *My Love from the Star* became a huge hit, every woman has wanted to have a close encounter with Professor Do, and the fried chicken and beer loved by the female lead in the show also became wildly popular. The shop’s specially launched Golden Crispy Roast Whole Chicken is an especially popular item—its crispy exterior stays non-greasy after roasting, while the juicy chicken inside is simply irresistible.

◎ Kyotoya
Both Kyotoya and Hoseinoya are among Taipei’s four most famous unagi (eel) rice restaurants. The eel used here is all raised in Taiwan and is of the same grade as that exported to Japan—free from earthy or fishy flavors, allowing gourmets to fully appreciate the eel’s natural sweetness. Generally, unagi rice comes in two styles: Kanto and Kansai. The Kanto method involves three steps: grilling, steaming, then grilling again. Kyotoya uses the Kansai method, skipping the steaming step, resulting in firmer, more textured meat.

◎ Hoseinoya
Hoseinoya is a renowned unagi rice spot in Taipei. The eel is freshly slaughtered on the same day, bringing out its full flavor. Char-grilled to give the skin a beautiful color, paired with a richly flavored sauce, it’s incredibly satisfying.
