The former site of the Dalian Branch of the Daqing Bank is a cultural relic protection unit of Liaoning Province.

Former Site of the Dalian Branch of the Daqing Bank

The building of the Dalian Branch of the Daqing Bank during the Japanese colonial period was completed in June 1910 and was the third structure to be built on Zhongshan Square. It is located at No. 7 Zhongshan Square, where People's Road intersects with Qiyi Street on present-day Dalian’s Zhongshan Square. At that time, this location was referred to as the intersection of Yamagata-dori and Shima-dori in Dalian’s Grand Plaza. This building features a French Classical architectural style from the late Renaissance period and was designed by a Chinese architect—making it the only structure on Zhongshan Square designed and constructed by Chinese professionals. After the liberation, it became the office building of the Dalian Education Bureau and is now the site of the Zhongshan Branch of China CITIC Bank in Dalian.
