Dalian Xianyu Bay Tourist Resort is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Dalian Xianyu Bay Tourist Resort is located on the southwestern side of the Liaodong Peninsula, along the western coastal area of Wafangdian. It is under the administrative jurisdiction and management of the Xianyu Bay Town People's Government. The resort covers a total planned area of 48.5 square kilometers and mainly includes attractions such as a seaside bathing beach, hot spring hotels, forest parks, a stele maze, Guanhai Temple, and Lover’s Island.

[Lover’s Island] Lover’s Island, also known as the Bathing Beauty’s Changing Island, can be reached on foot via an 820-meter-long suspension bridge. The island is 1 kilometer away from the bathing beach. Originally called Haotuo, it is a beautiful small island in the western waters of Xianyu Bay. After the legend of Xianyu Bay spread, people began calling it the Bathing Beauty Island or Lover’s Island, and it has earned the reputation of being the “Pearl of the Sea.” The island covers an area of 5.28 hectares and has an elevation of 23.72 meters. On the island stands a white sculpture depicting a couple embracing affectionately, which is the island’s iconic landmark and very eye-catching. During low tide, visitors can wade to the island, but during high tide, it can only be admired from afar. The suspension bridge connecting the island to the shore is called the Lover’s Bridge, allowing visitors to stroll and enjoy the scenic beauty of both sea and land. There are 28 small pavilions on the bridge, each featuring two white European-style statues. The statues are modeled after characters from Western oil paintings, exuding elegance and refined grace. The island is surrounded by towering reefs, crystal-clear seawater, lapping waves, splashing spray, uniquely shaped rocks, hidden water and dry caves, winding paths, and steep cliffs. The island is also home to rare flowers and grasses, with seabirds soaring above. When the tide recedes, the shallow areas around the island become popular spots for visitors to explore the tidal flats, where sea cucumbers, sea snails, and various shellfish are commonly found. Visitors can fully enjoy the fun of beachcombing.

[Bathing Beauty Bathing Beach] Xianyu Bay Seaside Bathing Beach, also known as the Bathing Beauty Bathing Beach, boasts naturally superior conditions and is a high-quality natural bathing beach along the Bohai Sea coast. The beach is semi-circular in shape, with azure-blue water, clean quality, and suitable temperatures. According to evaluations by the National Tourism Administration and the Liaoning Provincial Geological Institute, the seawater contains many trace elements needed by the human body, primarily sodium chloride, which has certain disinfectant and antibacterial effects on the skin after bathing. The daily variation in seawater temperature is characterized by higher surface temperatures and lower bottom temperatures in summer, making the period from mid-July to late August the most suitable for swimming. The coastline is naturally curved, stretching 16 kilometers in length, with 6 kilometers available for bathing, covering an area of 180 hectares. The sand is fine and the slope is gentle, consisting of fine-grained sand. The beach is golden yellow, with soft, delicate, and smooth sand that is gentle on the skin and helps enhance blood circulation and metabolism. It is particularly beneficial for those suffering from back and leg pain or arthritis. The bathing beach is divided into two sections: one is a 1,500-acre shallow-water area with no undercurrents, suitable for the elderly and children; the other is a 3,500-acre deep-water area suitable for adults. There are no restrictions due to tidal differences, and it can accommodate up to 200,000 people for bathing at the same time.

[Forest Park] Located on the northern hillside of the resort area, it is less than 10 minutes’ walk from the seaside. The park covers an area of 130 hectares and currently has over 200,000 trees of more than 10 species, including Japanese black pine, Mongolian oak, and maple. The area is filled with birdsong and fragrant flowers, with lush woodlands, making it a great leisure spot after enjoying the sea. Strolling through the forest, you’ll find verdant surroundings, chirping birds, wildflowers along the paths—both named and unnamed—scattered across the grass, dotting the lush green mountains and embodying the serene, primitive charm of the forest. Truly, it offers: emerald waves at the mountain’s base in spring, blooming mountain flowers in radiant bloom, forests painted in layers of autumn hues, and pear blossoms blanketing the landscape in a silver winter.

[Fishing Area] Located 1 kilometer from the seaside bathing beach and just a 10-minute walk away, the fishing park covers a water area of 800,000 square meters and raises over 10 species of freshwater fish, including carp, silver carp, grass carp, and crucian carp. The variety is rich and the quantity abundant. Due to its proximity to the seaside, the water here is a mix of fresh and saltwater, giving the fish a distinctly different texture and taste compared to typical freshwater fish, resulting in even more delicious flavors. From April to November each year, fishing enthusiasts from all over gather here, feeling the willow leaves brush against their clothes, the breeze gently blowing, and listening to the waves as they fish. Here, what you’re fishing for is not just fish, not just enjoyment—you’re fishing for a mood, a way of life.

[Guanhai Temple] Originally named Shijia Hermitage and commonly known as Luohan Temple, Guanhai Temple is an ancient site of the Caodong sect of Zen Buddhism. It was first built during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty but was later destroyed. According to inscriptions, it was rebuilt in the 21st year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty through donations raised by the abbot, Monk Shayi, and was renamed Xiyongfeng Temple. It suffered damage during the Cultural Revolution. To protect this historical site, with approval from the Dalian Municipal People’s Government, the temple was rebuilt 400 meters from the original site. This was reported to Zhao Puchu, then President of the Buddhist Association of China, who joyfully named the new temple Guanhai Temple, inspired by the phrase from the Lotus Sutra’s Universal Gate Chapter: “The wondrous sound of Guanyin, the voice of the Dharma like the ocean tide, can save the suffering of the world, thus it must be chanted often.” He personally inscribed the plaque. This is the only temple in Northeast China to be named and have its plaque inscribed personally by Zhao Puchu. In 2000, monks began residing at Guanhai Temple. Especially since Spring 2004, when Venerable Yihui, the 49th lineage holder of the Caodong sect, became the abbot, the temple has carried out various compassionate activities in an orderly manner. The temple management is well-organized, the halls and Buddhist ceremonies are solemn, and it has won widespread recognition and praise from devotees. In 2005, Venerable Yihui initiated the construction of the Guanyin Hall, Pure Land Retirement Home, Lay Buddhist Forest, Dining Hall, Mountain Gate, and Heavenly King Hall. On the 13th day of the sixth lunar month that year, the highly respected contemporary Zen master Venerable Jinghui personally presided over the groundbreaking ceremony. The abbot, Venerable Yihui, is originally from Baoji, Shaanxi, born in 1978. He was ordained in 1996, received full monastic precepts in 1998 under the guidance of the eminent Venerable Benhuan, and studied at Hebei Zhaozhou's Bailin Zen Temple and Hebei Buddhist College under Venerable Jinghui, eventually becoming the 49th lineage holder of the Caodong sect. In April 2005, he received transmission from Venerable Mingzhe, abbot of Qingdao’s Zhan Shan Temple, becoming the 45th lineage holder of the Tiantai sect. Venerable Yihui currently serves as Vice President of the Dalian Religious Culture Exchange Association, Vice President of the Dalian Buddhist Association, President of the Wafangdian Buddhist Association, and Abbot of Guanhai Temple in Wafangdian, Dalian. He also initiated the establishment of the Wafangdian Buddhist Association, setting a precedent for the formation of such associations in county-level cities in Liaoning Province.

[Pine Forest Maze] The Pine Forest Maze covers an area of 120,000 square meters and consists of four main sections: the Pine Forest Culture Maze, General’s Study, Fishing Paradise, and Celebrity Study. Drawing inspiration from the style of the British Royal Pine Forest Maze and incorporating Chinese cultural elements, it is a unique attraction that blends Eastern and Western influences with rich cultural significance. The Pine Forest Culture Maze is made up of 40,000 pine and cypress trees arranged in 20 vertical and 79 horizontal rows. Stone steles and calligraphy from notable figures are embedded within, combining greenery with beauty, culture with character, and an oxygen-rich environment with health benefits. The stele forest features 199 stone tablets engraved with calligraphy masterpieces from generals and leaders during the Anti-Japanese War and Liberation War periods. The layout is ingenious, the content profound, and the design distinctive.

[Jialebi Hot Spring Hotel] The “Jialebi” brand is a green, healthy, family-friendly product line developed by BTG Home Inns to meet the market demand for leisure vacations and family travel, aiming to create a comfortable, reassuring, and carefree lifestyle. The hotel is divided into two parts: the main building (Water Culture Center) covering 11,000 square meters, and 33 semi-detached villas, totaling 237 guest rooms. The main structure—the Water Culture Center—has four above-ground floors and one underground floor. The hotel can host banquets for 500 people. The meeting room spans 250 square meters and can accommodate events for 150 people. The fourth floor features an observation deck offering views of the sea and forest park, providing an intimate experience with nature. The hot spring area covers 1,500 square meters and includes three hot spring pools, a 200-square-meter swimming pool, and a 330-square-meter children’s play area, with a maximum capacity of 180 guests at one time. The seawater hot spring is a highlight of the hotel, known as the “Golden Elixir for Health.” The entire underground area features natural seawater hot spring water, with temperatures reaching up to 62°C. The high-temperature pools are at 42°C, medium-temperature at 40°C, low-temperature and children’s play area at 38°C, and the swimming pool at 30°C, catering to various guest preferences.

[RV Base] The Xianyu Bay RV Base covers an area of approximately 1,000 square meters. The campsite features a specially designed tent and RV camping area equipped with over 10 mobile RVs and multiple camping spots. Each RV parking space is equipped with drinking water supply, sewage drainage, and electric charging interfaces, all strictly designed according to international campground standards. Additionally, the RVs and tents are supported by shared facilities and consumption areas such as a supermarket, public toilets, and shower rooms. Guests can choose to stay at different scenic spots based on their preferences—“bringing your home on the road, driving your house to travel.” Fall asleep to the sound of waves, watch sunsets on the beach, play and barbecue on the sands, and enjoy the comfort of slow travel.

[Coastal Windmills] Standing on the beach or cruising the blue waters by yacht, a unique scenery unfolds before your eyes: in the distance, atop the coastal hillside, white windmills spin gracefully in the wind, standing like a forest against a backdrop of lush green grass. Towering windmills slowly rotate their massive blades with the sea breeze. Close your eyes to the song of the sea, open them to watch the wind’s footsteps. The sea, beach, islands, distant blue sky, windmills, and villas intertwine, blending motion and stillness into a harmonious and picturesque scene of unity between man and nature.
