A Midsummer Night’s Romance: The 2010 BiTan Fireworks Festival Sweetly Kicks Off

Are you wondering where to go on a hot summer evening? A stroll around BiTan can also bring a romantic vibe. The most anticipated “Midsummer Night’s Love – 2010 Taipei County BiTan Fireworks Festival” will be held on August 21–22. It will not only feature dazzling water dance fireworks shows but also include live singing performances by artists, the “Love Bus,” and the “BiTan Heart Photo Collection” event — a richly romantic Valentine’s celebration.

This year’s fireworks festival is especially spectacular, incorporating water dance elements with performances of two stories: “The Legend of Leifeng Pagoda” and “The Little Mermaid,” offering the public a unique audiovisual experience. The main stage show will feature live performances by artists such as Matilda Tao, Lala Hsu, and Show Lo, along with a carnival fair featuring food and fun — perfect for couples, friends, and families alike.

In addition to the on-site events, the public can also join the “Love Bus” tour and singles’ meet-up activities, taking in the sights of Xindian’s popular attractions before coming together to watch the romantic fireworks, which help quickly spark romance and add a sweet atmosphere to the Qixi (Chinese Valentine’s) Festival. The second activity is the “BiTan Heart Photo Collection.” From July 15 to August 5, participants can upload photos and stories of memories made at BiTan. The top 10 entries with the most online votes will receive accommodation vouchers at the beautiful BiTan ChunTian Grand Hotel to spend a romantic midsummer night.
