At the end of September 2003, the second phase of the Water World project was completed, marking another “first” in Dalian’s tourism industry: with its magnificent area of 136,000 square meters, a water activity zone capable of accommodating 10,000 people, dining services for 5,000, and an indoor fitness plaza spanning 6,000 square meters, “Water World” could rightly claim to be the world’s foremost indoor seawater fitness and entertainment theme park — not only the largest in Dalian but also the largest in the world. The Guinness World Records certificate prominently displayed in the hotel lobby further cements this well-deserved title.

In addition to conventional swimming and water play activities (all using purified seawater), there are many thrilling and dynamic options including: Blue Storm, Time Tunnel, Flying Dragon Challenge, Fantasy Water House, and Pirate Ship — all offering heart-pounding excitement that leaves you exhilarated and thoroughly satisfied. “Blue Storm” involves sliding down a specially designed waterslide on an inner tube at an 80-degree angle, descending a drop of 11 meters. In the “Hawaii Zone,” artificial waves can reach up to 1.5 meters high, while eight other types of waves, including parallel and diamond waves, allow you to experience the full spectrum of ocean dynamics — from calm to turbulent — in the blink of an eye, stirring your own emotions along with the sea…

Water World offers 299 guest rooms of various types, including 108 double standard rooms, 28 single standard rooms, 89 deluxe standard rooms, as well as business suites, luxury suites, presidential suites, and a villa building. Ten meeting rooms and multi-function halls of varying sizes can accommodate gatherings of 10 to 600 people. The meeting rooms are equipped with multimedia projectors and other conference facilities, and a four-language simultaneous interpretation system supports the hosting of international conferences. The hotel’s dining options are comprehensive, catering to diverse tastes, with large, medium, and small luxury banquet halls, à la carte restaurants, and buffet restaurants that can serve 6,000 people simultaneously.

Other facilities: 299 four-star guest rooms; meeting rooms of various sizes can host events for 30–600 people; the spacious reception hall features a 60-meter-long gold-inlaid mural of the “Along the River During the Qingming Festival,” which makes for a perfect photo opportunity.

Dalian Water World International Holiday Hotel is a large-scale tourist resort hotel built to four-star standards. The hotel offers 299 rooms of various types, including standard rooms, business suites, luxury suites, and villa units. There are 8 meeting rooms of different sizes, capable of providing conference services for 30–500 people simultaneously. Eighteen banquet halls and multi-function rooms can accommodate 500 diners. The most distinctive feature is the hotel’s indoor seawater water park, covering a construction area of 20,000 square meters with a water surface area of 7,000 square meters. It includes an international-standard swimming pool, shallow water wave pool, alpine water slide area, and children’s playground, making it the largest indoor seawater amusement park in China. In July 2003, the second phase of Water World was set to be completed and operational. Upon completion, the hotel’s total construction area will reach 130,000 square meters, with a water surface area of 20,000 square meters, establishing it as the world’s largest indoor seawater amusement park.

The SPA and hydrotherapy area features amenities such as gooseneck waterfall baths, whirlpools, and warm-water massage facilities, which use variations in water flow and pressure to achieve massage effects. The artificial wave pool covers an area of 4,500 square meters and utilizes state-of-the-art wave generation equipment imported from Germany’s Siemens, capable of simulating over 10 types of waves. The average wave height is 1 meter with a wavelength of 10 meters. When the waves are active, the surging waters and splashing spray truly bring the sensation of the ocean indoors. The alpine water slide area is designed specifically for young adventurers. The five parallel slides are called “Flying Dragon Race.” The two adjacent slides are named “Happy Family,” the red one is the “Time Tunnel,” and the blue one is the “River Rapids.” All these attractions stand 12 meters high. Among them, the Flying Dragon Race and Happy Family are 72 meters long, while the Time Tunnel and River Rapids stretch 122 meters. The average sliding speed is 6–7 meters per second, delivering an adrenaline rush of high-speed thrills and rekindling the joy of childhood.
