Wafangdian Chaoyang Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Chaoyang Temple is located at the southern foot of Dongping Mountain in the Taiyang Subdistrict Office, Wafangdian City. Legend has it that historically, there was Chaoyang Temple to the south of Dongping Mountain and Beiying Temple to the north. The temple was originally built during the Tang Dynasty, rebuilt during the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty, and reconstructed again in 2004. The main structure of the temple now is a circular, pointed-roof building with three floors, enshrining the Buddha Sakyamuni and the Maitreya Buddha, among others, and a main hall on the northern hillside is currently under construction. The temple houses a purple copper bell weighing over 750 kilograms, inscribed with 18 Buddhist scriptures including the "Great Compassion Mantra" and various exquisite patterns, making it an important ritual instrument of the temple.
