General Stone Sailing Base

The 12th National Games Wafangdian General Stone Sailing Base is located at General Stone Port in Xiyang Township, Wafangdian City, 290 kilometers north of Shenyang and 120 kilometers south of Dalian. Nestled against mountains and facing the sea, the base boasts stunning scenery. To the south lies Duntai Mountain, evoking a poetic sentiment of mountain and sea; to the west stands General Stone, engraved with the landscape of “Eight Ancient Scenic Spots and Nine Modern Highlights,” a centuries-old timeless legend, soon to embark on a journey of sailing.

To prepare for the sailing competitions of the 12th National Games, the Wafangdian Municipal Party Committee and Government rallied the full strength of the city, promoting the urban spirit of “Bold Vision in a Small City, Achieving Greatness,” and wholeheartedly constructed the General Stone Northern Water Sports Base, as well as the Duntai Mountain Olympic-themed Park. Fully embodying the strategic concept of coastal development, the planning and design have reached top domestic standards. After meticulous preparation, the comprehensive construction of the sailing base has officially commenced.

All essential facilities for the 12th National Games Sailing Base are built near General Stone Port. On land, the facilities include an Athletes’ Village, Media Center, Competition Organization Center, Measurement Hall, Boat Storage Area (Zone), Launch Ramp, National, Provincial, and Municipal Training Bases, primary and secondary breakwaters, and a Canoeing Training Base. At sea, there will be 426 berths for sailboats, laying a solid foundation for post-event development, tourism, blue economy growth, the creation of yacht clubs, sailing clubs, and the hosting of high-end sporting events.
