Dalian Longmen Tourism Resort is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Longmen Hot Spring Tourism Resort, a national AAA-level scenic area, is located in Longmentang Village, Xutun Town, northern Wafangdian City. It is a comprehensive tourism resort with a multi-ethnic style and international appeal, built around geothermal hot spring resources and integrating dining, entertainment, bathing, fitness, travel, sightseeing, vacation, and leisure.

Longmen Hot Spring is the only geothermal resource in Wafangdian City with surface seepage springs, formed over 500 years ago. With an average water temperature of 63°C–71°C, it is classified as a high-temperature mineral spring. Rich in metasilicic acid, heavy acid radicals, and sulfate ions with balanced pH, the water also contains more than ten trace elements such as manganese, copper, iron, selenium, zinc, lithium, and others, making it a natural elixir for bathing, fitness, skin treatment, and promoting blood circulation. Practical evidence shows it has special therapeutic effects on skin diseases, arthritis, and regulating central nervous system functions. Currently, there are five hot spring wells in the resort, with depths ranging from 5 meters to 280 meters, and a daily water output of up to 5,000 tons.

[Origin of the Name] According to historical records, over 200 years ago during the Qing Dynasty, this area was sparsely populated. A family surnamed Lü lived here, worked hard, and gradually became prosperous. They built a small wooden archway in front of their house. About 300 meters north of the archway stood a pagoda, which was the memorial pagoda of a Taoist priest surnamed Yang. Thus, locals referred to the archway and the pagoda together as “Loumen Pagoda.” In the field near the archway’s entrance, there was a hot spring, locally called “Tang” (meaning hot spring), leading to the place being named “Loumen Tang,” later changed to “Longmen Tang.” To this day, some locals still refer to “Longmen Tang” as “Xiaomenlou” (Little Gate Tower).

[Nearby Attractions] In addition to its abundant hot spring resources, the Longmen Hot Spring Tourism Resort is surrounded by numerous natural landscapes. The ridge of Longmen Tang South Mountain resembles blooming lotus flowers, hence the name “Lotus Ridge.” The eastern mountainous area features well-preserved natural secondary forests with dense trees and rich vegetation, forming a natural forest bathing ground. In the mountains, there is a place called Nianpan Gully, home to vast wild walnut trees, creating the unique spectacle of “Walnut Valley.” Additionally, there is a century-old pear tree standing 5 meters tall, and the majestic Sandao Pass. Heading east from the resort, visitors can climb Laomaoshan, the highest peak in Wafangdian City, to enjoy the scenery of Chengzigou, Xuezigou, and the Longtan Waterfall. To the west, fishing is available at Guanma Mountain, and swimming at Longwangmiao Beach. The area surrounding the resort is a fruit production zone, abundant in apples, cherries, grapes, pears, and other fruits, allowing visitors to tour, pick, taste, and purchase, adding vibrant colors to the resort.

[Resource Development] There is a local saying: “Longmen Tang is a golden treasure land where the sandy beach steams with heat.” Initially, people noticed steam rising from sandy soil; upon digging by hand, they discovered hot water gushing out. Locals then began digging pits underground for bathing, and this tradition of open-air wild bathing has been preserved to this day. Later, residents of Longmen Tang built fish farms to raise fish and shrimp using geothermal water, achieving great economic benefits. Since the 1990s, the Longmen Hot Spring Tourism Resort has been officially developed and constructed, reflecting high standards and international architectural styles. Covering an area of 5.57 square kilometers, the resort is a comprehensive destination encompassing ecology, health care, entertainment, and vacation. Currently, the resort hosts nearly 20 hot spring hotels and resorts, featuring Chinese, Japanese, and European architectural styles, ranging from affordable to high-end options. Indoor hot spring bathing and swimming are common features, while some also offer guest rooms of various classes, villas, banquet halls, meeting rooms, open-air bathing pools, and water play halls.
