Former Site of the Fuzhou Government Office

The former site of the Fuzhou Government Office is a cultural relic protection unit of Liaoning Province.

The former site of the Fuzhou Government Office is located on Dongyashu Lane, South Street, Fuzhou Town, Wafangdian City. It is a traditional feudal government office building from northern China during the Qing Dynasty. The office faces south and is built with a brick-and-wood structure. It consists of the main gate, front hall, rear hall, and east and west wing halls, covering an area of approximately 2,000 square meters. In the fifth year of the Yongzheng reign (1727), the Qing government established the position of Fuzhou Tongpan, who oversaw the Jinzhou Patrol Inspectorate and governed Jinzhou and Fuzhou. In the twelfth year of the Yongzheng reign (1734), the Qing government appointed a Prefect (Zhizhou) under the jurisdiction of the Fengtian Prefecture. This position was one of the highest administrative offices set up by the Qing government in southern Liaoning, with the office located in the southern part of Fuzhou Town. In the same year, the Jinzhou Patrol Inspectorate was abolished, and Ninghai County was established.
