Pu’an Temple

Pu’an Temple, located on Beishan Mountain in Xifeng, was originally built in 1904 but suffered severe damage in 1966. In 1998, Wang Quanlin, then Deputy Secretary-General of the China Taoist Association, President of the Liaoning Taoist Association, Standing Committee Member of the Liaoning Provincial Political Consultative Conference, and Abbot of Wulong Palace on Qianshan Mountain, invested 5 million yuan to rebuild Pu’an Temple.

The rebuilt Pu’an Temple covers an area of 4,000 square meters. The temple complex includes the Hall of Laozi, the Hall of Guanyin, bell and drum towers, east and west side rooms, the 0 Hall, as well as surrounding walls, steps, and platforms. The halls enshrine deities such as the Supreme Old Lord, the Three Officials, the Medicine King Sun Simiao, the Goddess of Mercy Guanyin, Lü Dongbin, Guan Yu, the Goddess of Sight, and the Goddess of Fertility.

The newly renovated Pu’an Temple faces south and features a uniquely arranged layout that exudes solemnity and dignity. The architecture of each hall is adorned with carved dragons and painted phoenixes, with upturned eaves and complex brackets, presenting a majestic, classic, and spectacular appearance. It blends harmoniously with the beautiful scenery of Beishan Park, forming a remarkable cultural landmark and tourist attraction.
