Xiping Provincial Forest Park is located in the northwest of Tai’an County, 19 kilometers from the county town and 3 kilometers from the birthplace of Zhang Xueliang. It is both a provincial forest park and a provincial nature reserve, representing a rare green resource on the Liaohe Plain. Situated along the key route between Qianshan Mountain and Yiwulu Mountain, the park boasts pleasant scenery and fresh air, attracting countless visitors every year. The park lies 19 kilometers northwest of Tai’an County, bordered by Huan Dong Town to the east, Hongjia Township to the north, the canal to the south, and Xiping Orchard to the west, covering a total area of 24.7 square kilometers.

The forested area within the park spans 32,000 mu, including 10,000 mu of pine forest and 1,000 mu of drought-resistant willow scientific experimental forest. The forest coverage rate reaches as high as 86.5%. The artificial lake covers an area of 303 mu, and as you can see, the lake water here is crystal clear. In summer, visitors can swim, boat, and fish; in winter, it is turned into an ice rink for skating. The woody botanical garden occupies 400 mu and features up to 75 varieties of woody flowering plants.

Within Xiping Forest Park in Tai’an County, there is an orchard spanning 2,500 mu, yielding nearly 600,000 kilograms of fruit annually, with over 20 different varieties available across three seasons. The pine forest covers nearly 10,000 mu and is planted with a variety of attractive plants such as Korean pine and Masson’s pine. In addition, Xiping Forest Park offers outdoor activities such as hunting—perfect for enthusiasts to enjoy the thrill. Scenic spots like the artificial lake, Fox Cave, Yanwei Lake Fishing Ground, Golden Beach, and Watchtower add even more charm. In recent years, the Tai’an County Government has invested in new facilities including a swimming pool, fish ponds, Yandang Lake, Fangqing Garden, as well as supporting amenities like villas, an entertainment complex, a commercial dining street, and corridors—making this a true destination for tourism, leisure, and vacation.
