On October 20, the much-watched final round of the 2013 National Motocross Championship concluded smoothly in Wuyi, Zhejiang. After tough battles in Shanxi Pinglu, Inner Mongolia Damiaoqi, Guizhou Liupanshui, and Zhejiang Wuyi, Peng Tianwei from the KAILAS team clinched the 2013 National Motocross Championship overall title with remarkable skill. This was also Peng Tianwei’s first national championship title.
The Wuyi, Zhejiang round was this year’s second international invitational event and the most crucial final showdown. As the sole competitor from the KAILAS team, Peng Tianwei went head-to-head alone against the Yunnan Giant Real Estate Motorcycle Team, which also competed in the A group with imported 250CC bikes and was considered the pre-race favorite to win. Naturally, this made the race highly anticipated. But in the end, Peng Tianwei faced a formidable and strong lineup of opponents, stood up to the pressure fearlessly, showcased his own style and dominance, and ultimately took the win and brought home the trophy for the annual championship.

However, in the face of great success, Peng Tianwei remained remarkably composed. Speaking to reporters, he admitted: although he has won the title among domestic riders, there is still a gap compared to foreign competitors. Firstly, domestic and foreign riders operate in different environments, and domestic competitions are relatively few, with training also being less systematic. The two opportunities to compete against foreign riders this year had a particularly profound impact on him. Peng Tianwei also hopes that Chinese professional motocross riders can engage in more exchanges with foreign riders in the future, thereby promoting greater and faster development of professional motocross events in China.
